Joshua Golub, Founder, owner, software engineer
2000 - present

Josh has been a professional software engineer for over 25 years. Prior to founding Finite Wisdom in 2000, he served as VP of Software Engineering at Xperts, a 120-person IT company in Richmond, Virginia. He has an undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Philosophy and a graduate degree in Computer Science.

Liesl Delisio, Administrator
2002 - present

Liesl provides all accounting and human resources support to the company.  Prior to joining Finite Wisdom in 2002, she worked as an actuary for Deloitte & Touche in New York City. She has an undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science.

Steve Paulson, Software engineer

Steve has been a professional software developer for over 15 years. Prior to joining Finite Wisdom in 2006, he also worked at Xperts, as their Director of Software Engineering. He has an undergraduate degree in English.

Phil Plante, Software engineer
2010 - present

Phil has been a professional software engineer for 20 years. Prior to joining Finite Wisdom in 2010, he worked for Camus in Williamburg, Virginia developing graphical user interfaces for industrial machinery. He has an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Richard has been a professional software developer for over 30 years. Prior to joining Finite Wisdom in 2010, he dabbled in a variety of technological pursuits. He has an undergraduate degree in Accounting.

Bill has been a professional software developer for over 20 years. Prior to joining Finite Wisdom in 2013, he served as the IT Manager for a printing company. He has an undergraduate degree in Computer Science.

Ellen Reiser, Graphic designer
2010 - present

Ellen has been a database developer, IT support person and graphic designer for over 20 years. She is a 15+ year veteran FileMaker developer. She is also versed in HTML, XML, CSS and other web technologies. Her background is in graphic design. She has a BFA from The Savannah College of Art and Design in Illustration and Graphic Design. She did post graduate work at the University of Tennessee in Computer Enhanced Design.

Ellen specializes in process design, data integrity and manipulation and user interfaces. Her combined creative and technical skills offer a unique perspective on any project.

Cheryl Paulson, Creative writer
2010 - present

Cheryl has been a professional writer for over 15 years. She started off as a reporter and eventually moved on to a marketing position for a Fortune 500 company. She has moved from writing for printed advertising and commercials to web advertising and search engine optimization (SEO).

Cheryl has a degree in English and is continuing her studies in marketing, SEO, and web advertising.

Tom Hopkins, Software engineer
2010 - present

Tom has been producing professional software for 20 years. He began his career developing software for medical imaging systems using C++. His career includes building applications to test surgeons' abilities in low gravity environments for NASA and designing supply chain applications for the defense supply center. Recent work includes developing mobile applications and web-based software that integrates with Facebook, Klout, and Mashery.

Prior to earning degrees in both Electrical and Computer Engineering, Tom worked as a nuclear reactor operator in the United States Navy.

Tripp Lilley, Software engineer
2013 - present

Tripp has been a professional software developer for over 20 years. He has specific skills in, and passions for:

  • Infrastructure software (i.e., software in support of other technological ends)
  • Visual design and layout, in both traditional and electronic media
  • Data mining, especially scrubbing and cleansing
  • System reverse engineering (hardware, software, protocol, and data formats)
  • Network architecture and management software (i.e., the writing of), protocol analysis, implementation, etc.
  • Software frameworks (i.e., rationalizing code into libraries, toolsets, etc.)
  • Bridging technology gaps (e.g., inter-language integration)

Tripp studied Computer Science at Virginia Tech before being lured into the technology workforce.

Greg Hofbauer, Web designer
2015 - present

Greg has been an interactive web designer/developer and multimedia specialist for over 15 years. Prior to working with Finite Wisdom, Greg launched several agencies focused on digital storytelling and virtual tourism. Greg also worked at Capital One as a User Experience specialist. Greg holds a BA in Computer Science and Digital Communications from the University of Richmond, and is also a graduate of Richmond's business incubator, Lighthouse Labs.

Suzanne Davenport, Project manager
2015 - present

Suzanne has been a project manager for over 25 years. For the last five years, she has been working, with help from the Finite Wisdom team, on Smart Projex, a project management methodology and cloud-based software package. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), a Certified Scrum Master (CSM), and earned her MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University where she graduated with high honors.

Suzanne specializes in managing projects in the business world, where nothing is constant except change, and where teams work on complex, urgent, and important projects.

Matt Bugbee, Software engineer
2010 - 2011

Since his time at Finite Wisdom, Matt has worked for both CarMax and RTS Labs in Richmond, Virginia. As of 2015, Matt has relocated to Silicon Valley to join the gTech Ads Data & Tools team at Google as a Web Solutions Engineer


David Knuth, Software engineer
2003 - 2010

After leaving Finite Wisdom, David became the Director of Engineering at Intellibot Robotics, a manufacturer of robotic floor-cleaning products. In the spring of 2015, Intellibot was acquired by the commercial cleaning division of Sealed Air, the bubble wrap conglomerate.


Tim Dietrich, Software engineer
2001 - 2006

Since working as a web developer for Finite Wisdom, Tim has refocused his efforts as a certified developer for FileMaker, a database solution that is a subsidiary of Apple and geared toward small and medium-sized businesses. In 2014, Tim authored his first book, the FileMaker Pro 13 Absolute Beginner's Guide.
